Beat the Blues – Week #29 Round-up

Here is a round-up of some of the most interesting content I came across last week.

What I am currently reading:-

Creativity Inc, by Ed Catmull

“Ed” Catmull was the co-founder of Pixar Studios, who went on to become the president of Walt Disney Animation Studios. Ed is hailed as one of the pioneers of the animation industry along with his long-time partner, John Lasseter.

Creativity Inc is a peek into the minds of a bunch of creators who redefined history with relentless passion.

What I’m listening to:-

INSIGHTS #53 — Neeraj Arora on learnings from his Whatsapp Journey

Neeraj Arora was one of the early employees of Whatsapp – in this chat with Anand Daniel, he shares about his college days at IIT-Delhi, his time at Google, and then at Whatsapp where he was the Chief Business Officer and played an instrumental role in the blockbuster $19 billion Facebook-Whatsapp deal.

What I’ve been up to:-

Episode #11 – Ankit Chawla – Personal Finance 101 Ft. Millennial Paisa man.

After a mini-hiatus last week, we’re back with a new episode of The Takeaway Club™ where I had a chat with Ankit Chawla, who is a personal finance consultant and host of the Millennial Paisa podcast.

We dive into the ABCs of the personal finance world right from expense management to credit cards to SIPs.  If you have always wanted to dip your feet in the world of personal finance, this might be just the perfect starting point.

A quote I am pondering:-

“Skate to where the puck is going, not where it has been” – Wayne Gretzky

Tweet I am sharing:-

The fascinating story of Allen Hemberger and the Alinea cookbook.

A tale of normal meets passion to achieve excellence.
